General Questions

A remanufactured engine is completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and rebuilt to OEM specifications using new or re-machined components. Unlike a "rebuilt" engine (which may only replace worn parts), a remanufactured engine undergoes a complete restoration process:

  • Complete disassembly and hot-tank cleaning
  • All cylinders re-bored or re-sleeved to OEM specs
  • Crankshaft ground and polished
  • New pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, and seals
  • Cylinder heads rebuilt with new valves and guides
  • Full dyno testing before shipping

Remanufactured: Completely disassembled and restored to OEM specs. All wear components replaced. Dyno-tested. Best quality and longest warranty.

Rebuilt: Partially disassembled. Only visibly worn parts replaced. Less thorough than remanufactured. Shorter warranty typical.

Used: Pulled from a donor vehicle as-is. No restoration work. Unknown history and remaining life. Minimal or no warranty.

We only sell remanufactured engines — the highest quality option with the best warranty.

Yes! Unlike many online sellers who are just brokers or resellers, we remanufacture every engine in our own facility in Lindenhurst, New York. We have full machine shop capabilities including CNC boring, honing, grinding, and our own dyno testing facility. This means we control quality at every step.

Warranty

All remanufactured engines and transmissions come with a 1-Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty. There are no mileage caps — drive as much as you need with confidence. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.

Our warranty covers all internal engine/transmission components against defects in materials and workmanship. This includes the block, heads, crankshaft, camshaft, pistons, bearings, and all internal rotating/reciprocating parts. See our Warranty page for complete details.

  • Installation by an unqualified mechanic
  • Use of incorrect oil type or failure to maintain proper oil levels
  • Overheating due to cooling system neglect
  • Modifications or aftermarket performance parts
  • Racing, off-road abuse, or commercial overloading beyond specs
  • Failure to replace required external components (water pump, oil pump, etc.)

Shipping & Delivery

Most engines ship within 24-48 business hours of order confirmation. Delivery time depends on your location:

  • East Coast: 2-4 business days
  • Midwest: 3-5 business days
  • West Coast: 5-7 business days

Engines ship via commercial freight carrier on pallets. You'll receive tracking information once shipped.

Yes, we ship to all 50 states via commercial freight carriers. We also offer international shipping to Canada and other countries — contact us for international quotes and shipping arrangements.

Yes, we can ship to residential addresses. However, please note that engines are heavy (300-1,500+ lbs) and arrive on pallets via freight truck. You'll need a way to unload the pallet (forklift, loading dock, or liftgate service). Let us know if you need liftgate service when ordering.

Shipping costs vary based on engine weight and destination. Many of our engines include free shipping within the continental US. For exact shipping quotes, call us at (631) 991-7700 or submit a quote request.

Core Returns

A core charge is a refundable deposit for your old engine or transmission. When you return your old unit (the "core") within 30 days, we refund the core charge in full. This allows us to remanufacture the returned core for future customers. Think of it like a bottle deposit — return the old one and get your money back.

We make it easy! Call us when your new engine is installed and the old one is ready for pickup. We arrange free freight pickup from your location. Just have the core drained of fluids and on a pallet. See our Core Return Program page for complete details.

Cores with minor damage (cracked exhaust manifold, broken accessories) are usually still acceptable. However, cores with cracked blocks, severe fire damage, or missing major components may not qualify for a full refund. Contact us to discuss your specific situation — we work with customers on a case-by-case basis.

Installation

We are a remanufacturing facility and do not perform installations. However, we can recommend qualified mechanics and shops in your area. Our engines are designed for straightforward bolt-in installation by any qualified mechanic.

Important installation requirements:

  • Replace the water pump, thermostat, and all hoses
  • Flush the cooling system completely
  • Use the correct oil type and fill to proper level
  • Replace all gaskets and seals during installation
  • Prime the oil system before first start
  • Follow the break-in procedure included with the engine
  • Keep all receipts for warranty purposes

Our remanufactured engines are "long block" assemblies that include the block, heads, crankshaft, camshaft, pistons, and all internal components. External accessories (alternator, A/C compressor, power steering pump, intake/exhaust manifolds, etc.) are typically transferred from your old engine. Contact us to confirm exactly what's included with your specific engine.
